PRINT

Print media is where I began my journey in graphics. I have 20+ years of experience setting up files for print. I can create large page-count documents that are layered (for various versioning), and page numbered as it relates to the TOC and Index. Pre-press is a priority for me. I want my files to go to print without any hang-ups. I know how to check the color-mode, bleeds & trim for the printer as well as any cut lines for the plotter. Having good communication with your print vendor is also a key part of the process. Print coordination should not be an underestimated part of the process. Getting quotes from multiple vendors for a project can inform what options are available.

WEB

While I do not consider myself a web-designer/developer, I do know how to write HTML code, and I can absolutely utilize Content Management Software such as: Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, Duda, Weebly, etc. I have a lot of experience sizing and optimizing images for the web, as well as hitting those alt-tags! I have experience running social media accounts for several endeavors over the years.

VIDEO

For the past five years of my career, I have been focusing on video production: shooting, editing, motion graphics, character animation, drone videography, etc. Even though video is a visual media, audio is a major element of any well-produced video. I am seeking out opportunities to expand my skills in audio/video.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have been taking digital photos since 1999. I have used various DSLRs over the years. I know how to shoot in manual mode, and can shoot/edit RAW photos. And of course, I utilize my smartphone for photography as well. In addition to taking/editing photos, I also focus on the cataloging/organization/tagging of photos.

ILLUSTRATION

Drawing is my first artistic endeavor. I have loved drawing from the time I was young, and nothing has changed - I always love the opportunity to illustrate something. Since 2014, I have been illustrating event posters. I've dabbled in medical illustrations, and I will never pass up the opportunity to draw a map. In regards to logo design, I incorporate illustration and typography together for branding purposes.

MARKETING

I am focused on understanding the demographics of the audience, selling the feature/benefit combo, answering the customers' questions, and crafting strong call-to-actions. I respect and abide by established brand standards, but can also create new branding when asked to do so.

TIME MANAGEMENT

I am focused on taking projects to completion with a high level of accuracy and detail. Managing multiple projects, and balancing priorities is a skill that I bring to the table.

COMMUNICATION

All design and art are essentially about communication. Of course, I aim for the final project to communicate well, but I believe that also manifests itself in how communication happens between individuals and teams when working on a project. Good design is good communication.

ORGANIZATION / ARCHIVAL WORK

Archiving, organizing, and tagging large collections of physical and/or digital assets is a project that I enjoy. I seem to have a mind for tedious work on long-term projects.

LEARNING

Life is a journey of learning, and I love being able to discover new ideas and solutions. Learning (whether it be formal or informal education) is part of who I am. I look for opportunities and environments not only where I can succeed, but where I will also be challenged.
